Outreach: Climate-KIC 2018
On July 3, 2018, GuMNet participated in an outreach activity within the Climate-KIC Summer School that the Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones para la Gestión de Riesgos Agrarios y Medioambientales (CEIGRAM-UPM) helps organize in Spain. This school hosts young people from all over the world to learn about sustainable and innovate bussiness in the context of climate change.
During the activity, the GuMNet stations located at Cotos and Refugio Zabala were visited and their instrumentation was explained, as well as the importance of observational data in the Sierra de Guarradama to carry out studies on deglaciation processes, different types of soil or climates in mountain ecosystems. The students learned about the importance of monitoring and research in high mountain environments to learn about the impact of climate change.
