Talking Fire: Reviving Indigenous burning in a changed landscape

2 DIC 2018 - 06:21 CET

Professor Cristina was one of the panellist in the Community Search Conference "Talking Fire: Reviving Indigenous burning in a changed landscape", organized in Newstead (VIC, Australia) on 30 November 2018. She introduced the European traditional practices of fire use for land management and its connection with fire risk in the Panel 3 discussion about "What about perceptions of risk?"

Talking Fire is a community initiative designed to create different kinds of community conversations about fire. At this one-day event, it was discussed how we can connect Indigenous fire traditions with current approaches to fuel reduction and planned burns to shape new ways to protect our landscape and communities in Australia.
