Sabbatical leave in the University California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

Professor Cristina Montiel is carring out a two-months sabbatical leave in the UCLA, from February 15th to April 15th. The primary objective  during her stay in California is to conduct a research project entitled "New democracy in Madrid and Barcelona: from inter-city competitiion to territorial competitiveness" in collaboration with Prof. John Agnew in the Department of Geography. A second objective is further develop the scientific collaboration launched in summer 2015 with Dr. Jon Keeley and Dr. Alexandra Syphard on fire scenarios, by analysing the territorial effects of the Woolsey Fire which recently burned Santa Monica Mountains (Malibu) in November 2018.
