Clara Vilabrille Rodil

 Predoctoral Researcher

  clavilab@ucm.es

Clara Vilabrille holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), an MSc in Terrestrial Biodiversity: Conservation, Characterization and Management from the same institution, and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching from the Distance University of Madrid (UDIMA). Her academic training combines a strong foundation in the biological sciences with specialized expertise in terrestrial ecosystems, including their assessment, conservation, and management.

Her PhD research is being carried out within the project “The Pyrogeography of Navarre: from cultural burning to catastrophic wildfires” and focuses on fire ecology. Her work examines the interactions between fire regime, climate change, and land management in Atlantic ecosystems, with particular emphasis on the ecosystem factors that influence convective wildfire behaviour and landscape resilience. Adopting a multidisciplinary approach, her research integrates perspectives from Ecology, Geography, Meteorology, and environmental management to advance understanding of fire regime and support more effective landscape planning and risk reduction strategies.
