Javier del Barco (PhD 2001, Universidad Complutense) se ha especializado en la cultura manuscrita hebrea medieval y en la historia del libro hebreo hasta el s. XVII. Su investigación se centra en cuestiones tales como el estudio e interpretación del libro como objeto histórico y cultural; la relación entre el objeto y el texto; prácticas de lectura, uso y circulación; y la historia de la catalogación y el coleccionismo. Ha publicado numerosos artículos sobre esos temas, además de varios catálogos de manuscritos, entre ellos Catálogo de manuscritos hebreos de la Comunidad de Madrid (Madrid: CSIC, 2001-2006), y Bibliothèque Nationale de France: Hébreu 1 à 32; Manuscrits de la Bible hébraïque (Turnhout: Brepols, 2011). Además, ha editado el libro The Late Medieval Hebrew Book in the Western Mediterranean: Manuscripts and Incunabula in Context (Leiden: Brill, 2015), y participa en varios proyectos de investigación nacionales e internacionales, como Legado de Sefarad III (UCM), Books within Books (EPHE-IRHT), Manuscripta Bibliae Hebraicae (AMU-CNRS), y Footprints: Jewish Books through Time and Place (Columbia-JTS).
Javier del Barco (PhD 2001, Universidad Complutense) is a specialist in Hebrew codicology and paleography, and in the history of Hebrew manuscripts and incunabula from the late Middle Ages to the early Modernity. His research is focused in questions such as the study and interpretation of the book as a historical and cultural object, the relation between the object and the text, practices of reading, using and collecting manuscripts and incunabula, and Hebrew book transmission and circulation. He has published several catalogues of Hebrew manuscripts, among which Catálogo de manuscritos hebreos de la Comunidad de Madrid (Madrid: CSIC, 2001-2006), and Bibliothèque Nationale de France: Hébreu 1 à 32; Manuscrits de la Bible hébraïque (Turnhout: Brepols, 2011), and has edited The Late Medieval Hebrew Book in the Western Mediterranean: Manuscripts and Incunabula in Context (Leiden: Brill, 2015).
