CLARIAH-CM Node took part in CLARIN2026

The CLARIAH-CM Node participated in the annual CLARIN conference, which was held in Brighton from 29 September to 1 October 2026.

7 oct 2026 - 09:45 CET

The CLARIN Annual Conference is the main annual event for those involved in this infrastructure across Europe. It is a highly productive event whose main aim is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences within the CLARIN infrastructure. This includes the design, construction and operation of the infrastructure, the data, tools and services it contains or requires, its actual use by researchers and lecturers, and its relationship with other infrastructures and projects.

During the event, the CLARIAH-CM team presented several posters and innovative proposals, with the aim of facilitating research in the humanities and social sciences. Of particular note was the presentation by Elena Battaner Moro (URJC), entitled ‘Linguistic Asymmetry in the CLARIN Virtual Language Observatory’, in which she carried out a study examining the distribution of code-based and textual linguistic values, analysing textual labels in accordance with ISO 639.

In the poster presentation section, the Node’s coordination team presented a poster providing an overview of the CLARIAH-CM Node, entitled ‘CLARIAH-CM: A Regional Laboratory for Digital Social Sciences and Humanities’. Finally, the coordinator, María Cuevas Riaño, presented a paper in the ‘Bazaar’ poster session analysing inter-observer variability in the perception of contemporary art, entitled ‘From Gaze to Emotion: Inter-Observer Variability in the Perception of Contemporary Art’.

Through its participation in the CLARIN Annual Conference 2026, the CLARIAH-CM Node reaffirms its active commitment to transforming the digital humanities through strategic collaboration amongst members of European research infrastructures, acting as a driving force that secures the future of the social sciences and humanities on a par with other scientific disciplines.
