The DARIAH Annual Event 2026 was held in Rome, Italy, during the last week of May, and, as every year, the CLARIAH-CM node was represented. This event is the most important for those involved in the European DARIAH infrastructure and brings together specialists in the field of Digital Humanities who are committed to the European principles of open science and the sharing of resources and infrastructure.
The 2026 edition was dedicated to infrastructures built by and for society and how to encourage social participation in them, as well as the new avenues this vision opens up, the challenges it faces and the issues it raises. The CLARIAH-CM Node contributed to the event with a collective poster on the activities carried out by the Node, available here. Furthermore, Elena Battaner Moro (coordinator for Rey Juan Carlos University at the Node) presented the paper “A Reproducible Approach to assessing multilingual metadata in Cultural Heritage collections” in collaboration with researchers Gustavo Candela (University of Alicante) and Paul Spence (King’s College London).
The event concluded with some exciting news: the next DARIAH Annual Event 2027 will be held in Madrid, at the Rey Juan Carlos University, at its Aranjuez campus. We look forward to seeing you there!
