The research group is participating in several projects concerned with additive manufacturing of light alloys (Al, Mg, Ti) and other systems of interest for aerospace and biomedical applications (stainless steel, maraging steels, zinc alloys). Focus is on the effect of powder reuse and recycling and their impact on microstructure and corrosion performance, as well as their suitability for surface modification, including anodizing, plasma electrolytic oxidation, conversion coatings and passivation. This research line includes active collaboration with industrial partners and public institutions.
