Mobility grants
- Common Core: All students take the same subjects during the first year of the programme and stay at the host university for the first two semesters – for the current edition of the programme, Uniwersytet Jagielloński w Krakowie will serve as the host university.
- Track: Then, for semesters three, four and five students disperse across six partner universities to follow one of the Tracks, each of which focuses on the perspective of a given discipline on sustainability studies.
- The Final Semester is designated for the writing and completion of a bachelor’s thesis, with optional student mobility to one of the eight universities associated with the programme also being available.
Mobility may be mandatory, as the programme is designed to be predominantly taught on-campus. However, the extent of the students’ mobility depends on their chosen track, as one of the tracks is coordinated by the Start University and students that choose to take it will stay at the Start University. Moreover, although mobility during the final semester of the programme is highly encouraged for the students to best benefit from the unique structure of the programme, it is not obligatory.
Parts of the mobility of the students may be eligible for Erasmus+ funding; however, we cannot guarantee the availability of such funding to all students. It is also important to remember that Erasmus+ grants are intended as a financial contribution to support student mobility and do not cover all the costs associated with studying abroad.
Please check with the university where you are studying the BASUS programme at each stage to find out when and how you can apply for these grants. Paying close attention to the application deadlines and meeting them is essential, as late applications are not accepted and no exceptions are made.
For students enrolled at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), information about mobility grants is available on the following webpage: https://ucm.es/convocatoria-alumnos
