This course is addressed for University students (undergraduate, graduate, master, PhD, engineers).

No need of previous knowledge in programming.

National Instruments collaborates with the course donating to students a 4-months LabView license.

The purpose of the course is that those working with instrumental systems are capable of controlling in a fast and efficient way different equipments (CCD cameras, stepper motors, oscilloscopes, lasers,...).

The first four weeks will focus in learning about LabView and the most important tools (working with files, booleans, subVIs, while loops, for loops, case structure, formula node, arrays, strings, global variables, charts,...). At the end of each week, several questions and problems will be proposed that would have to be solved and discussed by the students at the beginning of next week.

The other four weeks will focus on how LabView recognizes the different instruments by means of MAX (GPIB, RS232, ethernet, USB...). Each student will have an Arduino UNO to be controlled by LabView and analog-to-digital conversion of sensor signals (LDR, termistor,...) will be studied. This will allow students to get all necessary knowledge to built their own drivers and the control of instruments, to modify SDK packages or to create their own programs for data acquisition and analysis.
