Abstract

This chapter aims at presenting the framework and development of the workshop that was held in Madrid in May 2014 with the kind participation of a group of professionals representing the different stakeholders active in local and metropolitan planning. Following the instructions provided in the methodology, we assessed the usefulness of isochrones and related measures as a tool to improve urban planning. Results prove the good acceptance of the tool due to its ease of understanding and integration in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
