Amphiphilic Molecules

An amphiphilic molecule is that composed by groups that are solvophilic and other groups that are solvophobic with respect to a given solvent. With this concept in mind, we have design amphiphilic building blocks constituted by aromatic units decorated with hydrophilic, peripheral side chains. The organized self-assembly of such amphiphiles yield supramolecular structures with modulated morphology (vesicles, rods, toroids, etc)
