Research Teams and Lines

Adrián Franco Rubio

I am a Beatriz Galindo Research Fellow at the Complutense University of Madrid and the Institute for Mathematical Sciences (ICMAT). My research interests revolve around the mathematical description of quantum many-body  systems, their entanglement structures, and the quantum phases of matter they can be classified into. These I study using tools mostly from tensor networks and conformal field theory. I have also worked on noisy quantum simulation, and on topics related to quantum field theory and quantum error correction.

I studied physics and mathematics at the University of Zaragoza (Spain), followed by an MSc and a PhD in theoretical physics at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and the University of Waterloo (Canada), under the supervision of Prof. Guifré Vidal. After that, I was a postdoc in the Cirac group at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (Garching, Germany), and in the Schuch group at the University of Vienna (Austria).
