A new research group in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm is currently recruiting two PhD students.

The group will pursue a broad theoretical research program in quantum information science and quantum computation. Current areas of interest include quantum Shannon theory, quantum channel capacities, questions of additivity and nonadditivity, entanglement theory, and quantum codes and error correction.

The formal application deadline is September 24, 2026. Recruitment will continue until all positions have been filled, so interested candidates are encouraged to make contact even after the deadline. PhD candidates are also welcome to make informal contact before applying.

The positions are expected to begin in late 2026.

KTH offers an excellent environment for this research. In the 2026 QS subject rankings, KTH placed 33rd worldwide and fifth in the European Union for Engineering and Technology. Stockholm also has an active and growing quantum research community.
