PhD opening in theoretical quantum many-body physics at Trinity College Dublin
14 may 2026 - 18:20 CET
PhD student to join the Claeys´ group at Trinity College Dublin for a fully funded four-year position with an expected start date in Fall 2026.
We are seeking highly motivated candidates interested in theoretical quantum many-body physics. The successful applicant will work at the interface of condensed matter physics and quantum information, studying the dynamics of quantum many-body systems using a range of theoretical and numerical approaches. Research topics in the group include nonequilibrium phenomena, tensor networks, unitary circuit dynamics, quantum chaos, open quantum systems, and thermalization.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in quantum mechanics, an interest in analytical methods, and basic programming skills.
Potential candidates are invited to send the following to claeysp@tcd.ie: their CV (including transcript of records), a short description of their research interests, and contact information for two senior researchers who can provide reference letters. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
