Within the framework of the international seminar on photovoice and community mediation organized by DRLab, held on March 10, an award ceremony took place in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Social Work, recognizing the commitment of professionals and organizations to DRLab’s work in promoting a culture of peace, fostering collaborative conflict management, supporting student training, and advancing research in this field.

The Professional Commitment Award was presented to Aura Morales, from Asociación Barró and a member of DRLab since its foundation. She attended the ceremony together with her team of community mediators, with whom she chose to share this recognition.

The Institutional Commitment Award was presented to the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, in recognition of its support and collaboration with DRLab’s initiatives, particularly in the areas of children’s participation and community mediation.

During the ceremony, a posthumous tribute was paid to Manuel Ortiz, who was named an Honorary Member of DRLab, honoring his commitment to social transformation and his contribution to initiatives focused on conflict resolution and community intervention.

The award ceremony was one of the most moving moments of the seminar, highlighting the importance of collaboration between universities, professionals, and social organizations in advancing more just, inclusive, and peaceful societies.
