Mediation and Collaborative Conflict Resolution

On 16 and 17 March 2022, the Faculty of Social Work hosted an international seminar entitled Mediation and Collaborative Conflict Resolution for students of the Bachelor's degree in Social Work and other related programmes. The seminar was part of Teaching Innovation Project No. 124, which is titled International Proposal for the Creation of a Compulsory Module on Mediation and Collaborative Conflict Resolution for the Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Other Related Programmes' (2021–2022). Lecturers and mediators from Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, and Portugal attended the seminar.

Based on the project’s findings, a proposal was drawn up for the Faculty of Social Work at the UCM to consider when revising the Social Work degree programme. This included introducing a compulsory module on collaborative conflict management and a culture of peace, as well as an optional module on mediation and social work.
