Dr. Pedro Yustos Cuesta, Full Professor at the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department of the Complutense University of Madrid. He is professor of the Department since 2005. He got his diploma in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry) in 1991 when he presented his M.Sc. thesis on Synthesis of b-amino enones to obtain pyrazoles.
From 1992 to 1996 he was working on his Ph.D. thesis on Synthesis of 2(1H)-pyridones, in the Chemical Organic Department of the Valladolid University. Afterwards,he was assistant Professor of the University of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the University of Valladolid in 1997,
and associate Professor of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Autonoma University of Madrid in 1998.

 

Between 2003 to 2005 he was contracted Researcher of the Ramón y Cajal Program in the Chemical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the UCM. He started his relationship with the chemical engineering department of the university and became a postdoctoral fellow until 2003.

He has participated as a teacher in postgraduate training courses, in the field of environment, and have co-directed more than 20 research projects, end-of-career, master's degree, Final Degree Projects. He has participated as a researcher in 11 R & D projects funded in public calls, several projects funded by the Autonoma Community of Madrid and more than eight R & D contracts with companies. He has been co-author of more than twenty five articles in international journals and more than thirty communications to international congresses related to environmental technologies, elimination of pollutants in water, biodesulfurization, organic synthesis and enzymatic processes for the valorization of products.
