New publication: Methodological framework for fused filament fabrication of 3D-printed beads for cell immobilization in bioprocesses

As part of our collaboration with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, we had Ricardo Ramírez Brenes visiting FQPIMA - Fisicoquímica de Procesos Industriales y MedioAmbientales from September 2025 to March 2026.
As an outcome of his research, we have recently published a methodological paper evaluating the use of 3D-printed acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and polylactic acid (PLA) beads for prospective use in cell immobilisation.
This paper represents an advance in additive manufacturing approach to biotechnology for process intensification.
