We are glad to share our latest article published in Process Biochemistry:
Modelling growth-arrested production of polyhydroxybutyrate by Cupriavidus necator DSM 545
In this work, we develop and validate a kinetic model for PHB production using resting cells of Cupriavidus necator, offering insights into glucose uptake dynamics and the role of oxygen transfer limitations in bioplastic synthesis.
Key highlights:
• Resting cell strategy simplifies PHB production without active growth.
• High-yield transformation of glucose into polyhydroxybutyrate.
• Glucose uptake rate exhibits saturation, dependent on glucose.
• Establishment of a kinetic model describing substrate and product concentration dynamics
