Julia López Narváez is an assistant at the Department of English Studies: Linguistics and Literature at the Complutense University of Madrid. Julia holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies (Autónoma University of Madrid). While at university, she spent a year at Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh) as an Erasmus student. She also holds a Master’s degree in Literary Translation at Complutense University of Madrid. She is pursuing a PhD in English Linguistics (UCM) since 2018.

Her research focuses on the perception and construction of the fallen woman stereotype from a cognitive linguistic perspective. In translation, she has worked on linguistic variation and identity in English literary texts. Her main areas of research include gender studies, cognitive linguistics, and historical sociolinguistics, with special attention to identity and stereotype―both social and literary―constructions.
