Julia López Narváez is an assistant professor at the Department of English Studies: Linguistics and Literature at the Complutense University of Madrid. Julia holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies (Autónoma University of Madrid). While at university, she spent a year at Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh) as an Erasmus student. She also holds a Master’s degree in Literary Translation at Complutense University of Madrid. She obtained a PhD at the same university (premio extraordinario). Her dissertation investigates the perception and construction of the fallen woman stereotype from a cognitive linguistic perspective. Her main areas of research are cultural and cognitive linguistics, with special attention to identity and stereotype constructions.
