Laura Jiménez-Ortega is Associate Professor in the Psychobiology Department at the Universidad Complutense the Madrid and a member in the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit, Center for Human Evolution and Behavior UCM-ISCIII.
She did a Masters Thesis at the University College of London in "Special Research Methods in Psychology" (2000-2001). Later, she did her PhD Thesis in the BioMotionLab at Ruhr-University in Bochum granted by the International School of Neuroscience in Avian Visual Perception (2005). From 2006 to 2014, she was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Dentistry School at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
She has been working in several topics within the neuroscience field, from avian visual cognition to emotional effects on cognition and health. Nowadays, her research focuses are: “emotions and language interactions”, “subliminal unconscious processing of language”, and “psychological factors affecting dental health”.
