Complutense University is One of the 100 Best Universities in the World

The Universidad Complutense is one of the 100 best universities in the world in employability and academic prestige, according to the QS World University Ranking

The Complutense University has improved its position in 27 places from last year, standing out among the elite institutions of Higher Education

In terms of its employability, it ranks 92nd out of 26,000 universities. In academic prestige, it occupies the 94th position

This year, the Complutense University of Madrid has improved 27 positions in the prestigious annual QS World University Ranking and is ranked 206th out of a total of 26,000 universities evaluated. This result places Complutense among the elite institutions of Higher Education, among the top 1% of the world"s universities.

The Complutense is the second Spanish university (92nd in the world) for its employability and the third for its academic reputation (94th in the world). It also occupies the third place in Spain in the internationalization of teaching. The results are published on the website

The ranking is led by the American and British universities, which are in the top ten. The MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) keeps last year’s first position, followed by Stanford University, Harvard University, Caltech (California Institute of Technology), Oxford University, Cambridge University, ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), Imperial College London, University of Chicago and University College London.

The Spanish ranking is led by Madrid and Catalan universities: Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (159th), Universidad de Barcelona (166th), Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (193rd) and Universidad Complutense (206th).

Six indicators are assessed in this study: academic reputation, reputation among employers, scientific citations, teacher/student ratio, international students and international professors. The UCM achieves its best data in reputation among employers (92th) and in academic reputation (94th).
