Campus Iberoamérica works to promote and boost the mobility and exchange of students, teachers and researchers among the 22 Latin American countries.

Among the recent advances, we are pleased to inform you that the Iberoamerican Campus Platform (www.campusiberoamerica.net) has just started its testing activity. The Platform will help to identify mobility opportunities for students, graduates, professors and researchers; to know and access advantages associated with participation in mobility programs linked to this initiative; or to consult relevant information on destination countries.

The Unión Iberoamericana de Universidades (UIU) is a strategic alliance made up of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina; and the Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil, with the aim of being a think tank of high scientific quality, an international reference that will benefit the recognition of its scientists, professors and students, as well as the development of Ibero-American culture in the world.


The purpose of the Ibero-American Union of Universities is to foster collaboration through the mutual exchange of students and professors, the realization of joint research and teaching projects, the development of theses or shared studies for simultaneous degrees or graduation, as well as the organization of seminars, colloquiums, scientific conferences and other cultural manifestations. In addition, they will intervene as Ibero-American Union of Universities in governmental, international or other sponsoring institutions" programs.


In 2016, the Rectors of these institutions signed the framework agreement creating the Union. For its functioning, an Executive Committee has been constituted made up of a representative of each university designated by each rector.


During its first year, three International UIU Schools have been held, with students and professors from the five universities: Communicable Diseases at the University of Buenos Aires (March 2017), Smart Cities at the University of Barcelona (July 2017) and soon Biodiversity at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (October 2017).


As for research work, the call for inter-university research projects has recently been resolved, with an approximate budget of €300,000 and which this year will finance 17 of the 50 proposals submitted.

The North American Universities Reunidas is a consortium of university programs located in the Faculty of Geography and History, and shares an agreement with the three humanities faculties: Philosophy, Philology, and Geography and History.
