NILS Science and Sustainability Program

Supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism.

Operated by Universidad Complutense de Madrid

The Universidad Complutense of Madrid participates in the NILS Science and Sustainability Program, financed in the framework of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 (EEA Grants)

The Program will allow the funding of additional support to UCM students who do Erasmus mobility during the academic course 2014-2015, and whose destination country is Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein.

The UCM will publish a specific call for NILS grants, whose application will be done within the same period as the applications for the European Commission Erasmus grant.

Information about the program and the link to the NILS call are included on the text of the Erasmus call 2014-2015.

The UCM maintains Erasmus bilateral agreements with the 16 institutions belonging to the participating countries in the NILS program, with a total of 83 places.

Once the deadline of the application is passed and the Erasmus destinations are assigned, the Universidad Complutense will evaluate the received applications and will submit to the operator of the program a proposal of concession. The NILS Management Service will verify that the proposal meets the rules and goals of the program, after which it will authorize the Resolution of the grants awarded. The decision of the program operator will be unappealable.

The allocation of the NILS grants will be notified personally to each of the grant recipient.

The Vice-Rectorate of International Relations at the UCM will arrange informative meetings before the mobility period of the students awarded. It will also assume the payments of the grants and the tracking of the mobility in coordination with the Vice-Deans and the Erasmus coordinator of the Centres.
