Skills and Objectives

Objectives

  1. Train specialized researchers in Management, Marketing and Accounting that can be incorporated as Professors Doctors for public and private universities (in Spain, Portugal and Latin America, mainly).
  2. Provide scientific and methodological training for the students so they can perform research in Management, Marketing and Accounting in the various departments of Public Administration and Business.

General, transversal and specific skills that students should acquire during their studies


Basic Skills

  • CB1 - To have the knowledge and understanding that provide a basis or an opportunity for developing and / or applying ideas originality, often within a research context
  • CB2 - Students should be able to apply their knowledge and ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within wider (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study
  • CB3 - Students should be able to integrate knowledge and handle complexity of making judgments based on information that is incomplete or limited, and/or include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments
  • CB4 - That students can communicate their conclusions and the knowledge and reasons for making them to specialist and non-specialists in a clear and unambiguous way.
  • CB5 - Students should possess learning abilities that will allow them to continue studying in self-directed or autonomous way.

General Skills

  • CG1 - They should show a systematic understanding of business management, marketing and accounting and master skills and methods of research related to these areas
  • CG2 - Develop innovative spirit in a multidisciplinary field, encouraging the pursuit of creative solutions to all kinds of problems related to business management, marketing and accounting.
  • CG3 - Ccommunicate  about business management, marketing and accounting with their peers form the academic and professional community.
  • CG4 - Be able to make a critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and/or complex ideas in these fields
  • CG5 - Be able to promote, within academic and professional contexts, economic, technological, social and cultural advancement in a knowledge based society.
  • CG6 - Participate in Research Programs in their field
  • CG7 - Be able to identify, analyze and process information from primary and secondary database to test statements and hypotheses that attempt to answer research questions in some of the field related to the Master
  • CG8 - Be able to handle statistics and econometric techniques and a critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of the results in order to answer questions in the field of business management, marketing and accounting.
  • CG9 - Be able to integrate knowledge and handle complexity of making judgments based on information that is incomplete or limited, and/or include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments
  • CG10 - Students should possess learning abilities that will allow them to continue studying in self-directed or autonomous way.

Specific Skills

  • CE1 - Students should have demonstrated a systematic understanding of the basics of business management, entrepreneurship and innovation, operations management and technology, organization and human resources management, for identifing the main lines of research in these areas; and to master the skills and research methods related to business management, for an original research to advance knowledge.
  • CE2 - Students should have demonstrated the ability to conceive, design, implement and adopt a rigorous research on issues related to business management and a systematic understanding of statistical and econometric techniques for research and mastering the skills that will enable them identify, analyze and compare the information from databases to test statements and hypotheses.
  • CE3 - Students should have demonstrated the ability to implement effectively aimed at Marketing decision making models, with particular emphasis on models of consumer behavior and demand models.
  • CE4 - Students must demonstrated the ability to face problems objectively Marketing decision processes, and with the support of the theoretical knowledge of the discipline.
  • CE5 - students have made a contribution through original research that extends the frontier of knowledge in accounting, developing a substantial body of which publication at national or international impact can be made.
  • CE6 - Students have demonstrated a systematic understanding of accounting and master the skills and methods of research related to accounting.

Career Options

They can be incorporated as PhD Professors at public and private universities (in Spain, Portugal and Latin America, mainly).
