 What is SaludDigitalEdu?

In recent years, health promotion has ceased to depend exclusively on medical or teaching staff. Through social media, mobile applications, and smart devices, young people receive a multitude of messages about healthy habits and body models, in what is known as "digitalized health promotion". The SaludDigitalEdu project stems from a deep understanding of these social and cultural factors to comprehend the relationship of Spanish youth with this new environment.

The purpose of our research is to analyze the impact these technologies have on how young people understand and manage their own health and well-being. While these digital tools can motivate them and offer useful information, they can also generate excessive self-surveillance and clearly clash with the education provided in schools. Building a critical perspective on this reality, together, is the urgent challenge our classrooms need.

The research employs a participatory design to propose joint solutions. We promote creative methodologies to co-create critical pedagogies, working directly alongside students and teachers. All this through the development of innovative pedagogical ideas that can be realistically applied in Secondary Education schools, always guided by the spirit of transforming digital health education.
