José Carmelo Lisón Arcal

Graduate in Sociology (Social Anthropology) and Doctor in Social Anthropology, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Master of Arts, University of Florida (USA). Tenured Professor in the Social Anthropology Department, Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology, at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

        Has participated as speaker and organizer in national and international anthropology conferences (Washington, Zagreb, York, Rome, Madrid, Granada, Salamanca) and has taught postgraduate courses and seminars at Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, Universidad de Zaragoza, UNED, Universidad de Murcia, Universität Bayreuth, Universita’ degli Studi di Bari, Scoala Nationala de Studii Politice si Administrative de Bucarest and EMUI (Euro-Mediterranean University Institute).

        Academic management positions: Currently Director of EMUI at UCM.  Has been Vice-Dean of International Relations and Innovation in the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology at UCM, Representative of UCM in the UNICA network (Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe) and Sub-Director of EMUI.  Expert Assessor for ANEP (National Evaluation and Prospects Agency) in the area of Social Sciences and of FQS (Forum: Qualitative Social Research; Sozialforswchung)in matters related with qualitative research techniques using audiovisual media.
