Presentation of the GRAND ARM300 cF transmission microscope

Prof. Jose María González Calbet head of the National Center for Electron Microscopy, hosted the official presentation of the GRAND ARM300 cF transmission microscope, with the attendance of UCM Chancellor, Comunidad de Madrid Head of Education, Ministry of Economy and Competitivity General Director, JEOL vice president, among other officials.
There are only three operative Grand ARM300cFEG microscopes in the world: the first prototype, built and operated in Tokyo, a second unit installed in Germany, and since April 25th this one in Universidad Complutense de Madrid. It is installed at the National Center for Electron Microscopy. Its main feature is the ability to display the lightest atoms in the periodic table, such as hydrogen, lithium, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. During the official event, UCM Chancellor Carlos Andradas defined this instrument as "one of the jewels of UCM". April 25th. <link> <video>
