Laura de la Parra

Laura de la Parra Fernández es graduada en Estudios Ingleses por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Actualmente cursa el máster en Escritura Creativa de la Universidad de Edimburgo, y estudió en la Universidad de Utrecht gracias al programa de intercambio Erasmus. Es autora de la novella Lila (Ediciones Oblicuas, 2011), y forma parte, entre otras, de las antologías Tenían veinte años y estaban locos (La Bella Varsovia, 2011), Hijas del pájaro de fuego (Fin de Viaje, 2012) y Atlas poético (Cuadernos del Laberinto, 2013). Ha sido becaria de excelencia del grupo de investigación LEETHI y becaria de colaboración del departamento de Literatura Inglesa de la UCM. Dirigió y coordinó el recital de jóvenes autores abulenses “Sombras en el adarve”. Es columnista de Tribuna Ávila y coordina junto a María Sánchez la antología digital Ciudades esqueleto. Mantiene un blog. Sus principales intereses son la narrativa contemporánea americana, la narratología, el relato corto, la teoría de género, el modernismo inglés, el gótico sureño y la creación literaria en todas sus manifestaciones. Laura de la Parra Fernández graduated from English Studies at the Complutense University in Madrid. She is currently studying the MSc in Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh, and she spent a year at Utrecht University thanks to the Erasmus Exchange program. She’s the author of the novella Lila (Ediciones Oblicuas, 2011), and has appeared, among others, in the anthologies Tenían veinte años y estaban locos (La Bella Varsovia, 2011), Hijas del pájaro de fuego (Fin de Viaje, 2012) and Atlas poético (Cuadernos del Laberinto, 2013). She has held two Excellence Grants in the LEETHI research group and has been an intern at the English Literature department at UCM. She directed and coordinated the public reading by young authors from Ávila “Sombras en el adarve”. She writes a column in Tribuna Ávila and coordinates along with María Sánchez the digital anthology Ciudades esqueleto. She keeps a blog. Her main interests are contemporary American fiction, narratology, short fiction, gender studies, English modernism, Southern Gothic and creative writing in all forms. Contact: snowfragance@gmail.com
