Our Mission

The job of the humanities is to cultivate the human core, that part that we might call the spirit, the soul, the most inward and elemental part of a person. This journal focuses not only on the external goods the humanities can produce (creative and critical thinking, good writing), but also the internal transformation (spiritual depth, personal integrity). Our mission is to train students into publishing and editing, and to stimulate vocations and passion for the humanities.

The journal is produced by voluntary graduates and faculty. Papers submitted undergo an initial section by the managing editor before being accepted for peer-review. The papers are then evaluated by two student editors who review each paper and provide comments and indications on whether the paper should be published or not. Papers are sent back to their authors with recommendations. At least one more professor in the respective field of expertise is consulted before the final acceptance for publication. Both the managing editor and the assisting editor have responsibility for advising on improvements and re-structuring of papers.

Manuscripts should be submitted to the editorial board of the journal. The author assumes all responsibility for the ideas expressed in the material published. Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation. The blind peer review process takes around 2 months. The editors may ask for revision and may require reformatting of accepted manuscripts. Sometimes they may alter manuscripts wherever necessary to make papers conform to the journal’s style.
