Introduction
PLAN FOR CURRICULAR INTERNATIONALIZATION
Universidad Complutense de Madrid is a truly international Higher Education Institution with students and staff from over 40 different countries and more than 11 languages used on campus. In this line, the UCM has developed the Plan for Curricular Internationalization: a strategic and holistic plan that aims at making this international experience more visible and accessible to a wider number of stakeholders by:
Adopting an international vision of the university that, in addition to mobility, gradually encourages curricular internationalization on campus
Including international and intercultural competences in learning outcomes
Cooperating with transnational partners worldwide in international networks and projects
Using English as a lingua franca (and gradually other foreign languages) in courses/degrees, and other academic activities as a way to:
Enhance our students’ foreign language competence and international curriculum
Improve their international profile and future employability
Attract an international and talented staff and student population
