About the Meeting

Following the tradition of previous events, the fifth Symposium will cover a broad range of topics related to the breeding and keeping of South American Camelids in Europe. This unique opportunity will allow the experience of both South American and European experts to be combined. The invitation to participants interested in other fibre producing animals is expected to stimulate the exchange of knowledge und thus enabling their expertise to be implemented on a more general scale.

Conference Language

English. There will be no simultaneous translation. Interpreters will be present during the discussion sessions and workshops.

Submission of Papers and Abstracts

Papers can be submitted as oral presentations or posters along with a preliminary abstract of up to 300 words (1 page). Abstracts should be sent by e-mail to: sympcam@vet.ucm.es. Accepted oral and poster presenters submit their manuscripts until Sept. 15, 2010 to be included in the Proceedings which will be sent to participants by spring 2011. Book of abstracts will be ready at the time of the meeting.

Costs

¹ Fee includes: Welcome Reception and the cultural visit on Wednesday night, the coffee breaks and the working lunches during the Symposium, the Congress bag containing the Abstracts book, and the Proceedings of the Symposium (mailing cost included).

Further costs: accommodation costs, dinners, etc. have to be paid by the participants. The three working lunches are included in the registration fee and they will take place in a restaurant near to the congress venue.
