This project emerges from the persistence of a group of researchers from the Political and Administration Sciences Department (Departamento de Ciencia Política y de la Administración II) at the University Complutense of Madrid. The web site developed contains the key variables that configured the multifaceted ambit that is the Spanish political system, where our democratic life is framed.

THE RESEARCH TEAM

The team has its origin in the Educative Innovation Project “Politics and Democracy in Spain” (PIE 99/18) of the University Complutense of Madrid. This project found its continuation, with the same support by the University Complutense of Madrid, with the Project “Politics and Democracy in Spain; The Spanish Political System from a Comparative Perspective)” (PIE 2001/21). The research team is formed not only by teaching and research staff from the political science and public administration fields of study and well as some other related disciplines, but also by doctorate students and computing professionals, all of them “connected” somehow to the Spanish political system and to the new technologies.

The articles contained in the web site have been elaborated by members of the team with the exception of the article “Territorial organization of the State”, realized by Adolfo Hernández Lafuente, Civil Administrator of the State, and at the moment Professor of Political Science at the University Carlos III of Madrid. Moreover, the electoral simulator has been developed by the computer engineer Juan Sebastián Pérez Herrero.
