Program and General Information

Overview

The accurate astrophysical observations available now provide unprecedented information about the Early Universe. This information and the even better forthcoming observations call for renewed efforts to provide precise theoretical predictions. In this context, the aim of this seminar is to constrast recent advances in theoretical predictions with the observational results.

The main topics include:

• Cosmic Microwave Background observations: temperature anisotropies and polarization.
• Large scale structure: theory and observations.
• Clarification of inflation models and its predictions. Scalar and tensor primordial spectrum of perturbations. Confrontation to current and expected data and discrimination: selection of allowed models and ruling out models by CMB data.
• Relations between the primordial spectrum of perturbations and CMB and large scale structure observations, and the implications of these relations.
• The effects of Non gaussianity on the CMB.
• The effects of primordial magnetic fields on the CMB and large scale structure and testable predictions.

The Seminar is open to all scientist interested in this domain. There are no registration fees. Participants wishing to attend the Seminar should register here.

Welcome of the participants and Registration starts Wednesday 7 May at 9:00 am at the first floor central hall of the Faculty of Physics.

LECTURES start on Wednesday 7 May at 9:30 am at "Sala de Grados" on the first floor of the Faculty of Physics, where all sessions take place.

All DISCUSSION SESSIONS with coffee and tea take place at the "Cafeteria" on the basement floor of the Faculty of Physics.

A COMPUTER ROOM is available at the basament floor of the Faculty of Physics.

LUNCH is served at the Teacher's Restaurant on the basament floor of the Faculty of Physics. There are also other Teacher's Restaurants available at the Faculty of Chemistry (contiguous building) and at the Faculty of Phylosophy (on the other side of the sport fields, ten minutes walking). The lunch will be payed directly to the waiter by each participant.
