Synthesis and modification of materials and minerals in extreme conditions of pressure (< 100 kbar) and temperature (< 1300ºC). In the next extension of the laboratory, the objectives would be extended to the use of strong oxidizing conditions.
The purpose of this research is trying to understand the COMPOSITION/STRUCTURE/ PROPERTIES relationships, the ultimate goal being the synthesis of materials under design ("tayloring")
