Environmental Policy is based on the Agenda 21, which was passed on the Environmental Conference at Rio de Janeiro in 1992. From this result the following objectives of olive oil production:
This means for olive oil production that the process management has to be modified in such a way that fresh water and energy consumption are lowered and the oil yield increases. For the separation of the unavoidable waste (solids, waste water) into water and dry material, central treatment plants will be used which are operated at low expenses and environmentally compatible. After treatment the wastewater can be used to replace freshwater. Suitable disposal procedures for the dry material must be found those have no negative effects on the environment. For this purpose the demands (quality) made by the client (soil, water, air, man, animal, plant) on the product have to be taken into consideration.
