The symposium aims to become an arena for intellectual engagement and debate among renowned scholars in the Humanities from the Spanish and European scientific communities. The purpose of the meeting is to reflect and debate on the present academic and social status of the humanities, as well as about the new strategies for research in this broad field. The intention is to consider the new models and paradigms in humanities research and teaching, and to gauge the extent to which the introduction of interdisciplinary approaches and team work, or the new information technologies, are having an impact on them.
