Lectures for each course will take place once a week for two hours long and they will take place at the "Sala de Juntas" wich is located at the end of the corridor on the third floor.
Thesis topics
Students are advised to choose a topic during the second term. Choice of subject must be among the following topics:

Protection of biotechnological inventions: The New European Directive The regulation of electronic commerce The regulation of content and free speech on Internet The New Draft European Directive on sales and warranties of consumer goods Negligence in breach of contract
Joint ownership in marriage Legal restrictions in inheritance Conditions in inheritance Effect of welfare policies on birth rates Effects of family aid policies on women supply of labour The economic effects of maternity leave
Other theses on bankruptcy law and some specific topics on public choice and regulation are also accepted, for instance:
Financing political parties The market of illegal drugs Reorganisation of bankrupt firms
The length of the thesis should be no more than app. 16.000 words or 40 pages. One copy has to be sent to the supervisor, one to the external examiner, one to the director of the programme, and one to the archive in Ghent, no later than August 12th.
Degree
Foreign students enrolled in the Erasmus L&E who spend the 3rd term in Madrid are entitled to obtain a degree called "Magister en Law and Economics", provided that they are postgraduate students.
Once they have passed all the L&E exams and written the theses they should:
Fill in the appropiate form. Hand in a photocopy of their first degree with the "Apostille of the Hague" or the original degree to convalidate a photocopy of it. Hand in a photocopy of their passport. Pay the required fees (around 150 €)
