Background
The Peace and Security Program at Nautilus consists of a variety of projects,
and supports several Internet-based networks, including the South Asian Nuclear
Dialogue Network (SANDNet). SANDNet provides participants with timely news
summaries, analysis, and discussion gathered from sources throughout the world.
The network enables clear and reliable exchanges of information and expertise
among a wide variety of officials, NGO representatives, scholars and other
individuals concerned with nuclear issues in the South Asia region. The
principal goal of SANDNet is to facilitate trust and multilateral coordination,
promote greater peace and security among the states in South Asia, and support
efforts toward nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament. For more information,

In order to further develop its wide range of teaching and research activities
in the Dublin European Institute, University College Dublin (UCD) intends to
appoint an Assistant/College Lecturer who will contribute significantly to the
research and teaching programmes of the Institute.
The person appointed to this post will work with colleagues in the following
areas: The development of a high quality research-training component to the
Institute’s new structured Ph.D. programme, the identification and pursuit of
opportunities for funded research and the further enhancement of UCD's already
strong international reputation for postgraduate teaching in European Studies.
Preference will be given to applicants with advanced academic qualifications
(normally PhD) who can complement and deepen existing teaching/research
strengths in the areas of EU governance, comparative European public
policy-making and/or comparative European government. Candidates with a
regional European focus (e.g. Central European, East European, Balkan, Nordic
or Mediterranean) are welcome.

Le Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches Internationales (CERI) recrute deux
chargés de recherche de 2ème
classe (statut FNSP).
Les postes sont ouverts aux titulaires d’un doctorat dans une discipline de
sciences sociales intéressant le CERI. La thèse de doctorat doit avoir été
soutenue au moment du dépôt de dossier de candidature. Le salaire de
recrutement correspond à la grille de début de carrière appliquée dans les
organismes publics français de recherche. Il est attendu des candidats
étrangers qu’ils maîtrisent parfaitement le français.
A qualité égale, la préférence sera donnée aux candidats présentant un projet
de recherche avec une dimension comparative et démontrant une expérience de
terrain. Un intérêt particulier sera porté aux candidats spécialistes du
Moyen-Orient et du monde arabe, de l’Europe centrale et des Balkans, des
questions de sécurité et de stratégie, des questions d’économie politique
internationale.
Le dossier devra être déposé impérativement au CERI, auprès de Madame Sylvie
Haas, avant le vendredi 23 février 2001 à 18 heures. Il comprendra
obligatoirement cinq documents:
1° Un curriculum-vitae détaillé incluant la liste des publications
2° Un exemplaire de la thèse
3° La copie du rapport de soutenance de thèse
4° Un projet de recherche de 20 pages maximum soulignant l’apport du candidat
au CERI.
5° Un document de deux pages maximum résumant le curriculum-vitae et le projet
de recherche.
Une pré-sélection des dossiers sera opéré par le Conseil de laboratoire du CERI
en mars 2001, sur la base de rapports d’évaluation. Les candidats sélectionnés
seront auditionnés par le Conseil de laboratoire le 2 avril 2001. Le
recrutement des deux chercheurs sélectionnés sera ensuite proposé par la
direction du CERI à l’Administrateur de la FNSP.
