Work Experience 

 

 

  • 1992-1996:  Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain. Climate research (Ph. D. student) in Prof. Francisco Valero's group concerned with statistical climatology and climate models validation.
  • 1996-1998:  Météo-France, Toulouse, France. Climate research (research assistant) in Mr. Michel Déqué's group concerned with regional climate modelling and seasonal forecasting.
  • 1999-now: Centro de Astrobiología, Torrejón de Ardoz, Spain. Astrobiology research (postdoctoral student) in Prof. Luis Vázquez group concerned with planetary atmospheres and nonlinear processes.
  • Author of more than 10 refereed publications.
Education
  • 1986-1991 Masters degree in physics, Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain.
  • 1992-1996 Bachelors degree in mathematics, Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain.
  • 1992-1996 Doctoral research in climate dynamics, Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain.
  • Ph.D entitled "El Bloqueo Atmosférico: Simulación en un Modelo de Circulación General y Patrones de Precipitación Asociados". Supervised by Prof. Francisco Valero Rodríguez. Magna cum laude (Apto cum laude por unanimidad).
Teaching Experience
  • Teaching assistant for Cloud Physics lectures at the Universidad Complutense, academic years 1992 to 1995.
  • Collaboration in Theoretical Meteorology lectures at the Facultad Politécnica of the Universidad Nacional of Asunción, Paraguay, in August 1994.
Grants
  • Fellowship awarded by the Consejería de Educación of the Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, for training researchers at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid from 1992 to 1995.
  • Fellowship awarded by the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional, Spain, for cooperation with South American countries in August 1994.
  • Fellowship awarded by the Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Spain, for a stage at the Czech Republic in June-September 1997.
  • Fellowship awarded by the Instituto Nacional de Técnicas Aeroespaciales, Spain, for postdoc researchers in February-December 1999.
