In the framework of this project, several time-slice simulations have been made at Meteo-France. Two of them are the control run and the perturbed climate (2xCO2) simulation with standard parameters for the soil scheme. A data set of sea surface temperature and sea-ice from the results of a transient response experiment performed at the Hadley Centre has been used. The version 2 ARPEGE GCM with T31 horizontal resolution and 19 vertical levels has been run. The circulation in the Northern Hemisphere has been studied in a more general idea of comparing the results from several models but using the same SSTs. For the moment, the circulation in the UGAMP GCM is also being considered. Some previous results show that the Atlantic jet is stronger in the perturbed climate, giving more active storm tracks and reducing the low-frequency variability (as is the case of blocking).
