Spanish course content

If you are an Erasmus student at UCM, we suggest that your current level of Spanish language be, at least, an Intermediate one (B1), before starting the classes in your faculty. This will facilitate your integration into classes, and will also make you feel more comfortable with your daily life here in Madrid. If your Spanish level is below the intermediate, it would be great for you to complete a Spanish course before coming to Madrid.

The contents of the different levels, which are going to be taught inside our courses, will depend, to a great extent, on the placement test which students are required to do. In all of them, you will have:

  • Revise all your doubts about Spanish language
  • Familiar and useful vocabulary
  • How to get fluency in spoken language
  • How to produce written texts in Spanish
  • Besides, you can suggest your own topics to be discussed in class

Course Certificate

Once the course has finished, you can pick up the certificate to justify your attendance at classes and the number of hours attended at the corresponding level, according to the European Framework for languages, but not any ECTS credits will be given / recognized.

In order to obtain your attendance certificate, you must have participated in 80% of the total amount of teaching hours. Therefore, more than two absences will not be allowed.

Students who want to obtain an official certificate about their skills in Spanish language, will have to pass an exam from DELE , for which there are some preparatory courses in order to pass DELE examination in our “Centro Complutense para la Enseñanza del Español” ( Complutense Center for Spanish Teaching).

The place where you can pick up your certificates is the Erasmus office of the Faculty of Philology, Building D, from the 1st  March 2012, from Monday to Thursday between 11.00 and 13.30h.
