R+D+i
at
Madrid Science Park
The
Madrid Science Park (Parque Científico de
Madrid, PCM) acts as a Spin-off Industries incubator. The Biotransformations
Group (BTg) gives scientific & technological support to
spin-off industries in the Scientific Park of Madrid by means
of the Incubator of Industries.
Two technology development units at this scientific park are
directed by members of the BTg; the Industrial Biotransformations
Service - Director Prof. J.V. Sinisterra - and the
Molecular Interactions Service (BIACORE) -
Director Prof. M.J. Hernaiz -. Both units develop R+D+i projects
in cooperation with Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries.
Spin-off
Industries Incubator
PCM acts as a Spin-off Industries incubator. BTg members are
giving scientific and technological supports aiding the successful
development of spin-off industries. This support favours start-up
of biotechnological companies by providing entrepreneurs with
an array of targeted resources and services. More
info.
Industrial Biotransformations
Service
BTg has created the Industrial Biotransformations Service
(SBI) to give technological and scientific support to spin-off
enterprises located in PCM and to Small & Medium Enterprises
to contribute to the development of R+D+i projects in cooperation
with Industries, in the fields of Biotechnology, Organic Chemistry,
Instrumental Analysis, Green Chemistry, White, Blue and Red
Biotechnologies and Pharmaceutical Technology.
SBI develops analytical methodologies to determine enzymatic
activities, HPLC/MS or GC/MS analysis, bio-liberation of drugs
from solid or dermal formulations (pharmaceutical, nutriceutical
and cosmetics), etc.
In
addition a fermentation service is offered for the production
of enzymes or secondary metabolites. All the services offered
by SBI are under ISO Quality Standards.

Molecular Interactions Service
BTg creates the Molecular Interactions Service to give a quality
service to research groups of the Universities and Research
Council. The Biacore
3000 allows the determination
of biomolecular interactions through surface plasmon resonance,
with real-time detection and minimal sample consumption. The
Biacore 3000 model is the current state-of-the art system. If
you are doing binding studies or looking for ligands, consider
trying this new system. The services offered are under ISO Quality
Standards.

Scientific
and Technical Courses [Web]
The
Molecular Interactions & Biotransformations Services as
Technological Development Units organize courses to promote
technology and knowledge transfer to technicians and post-graduated
researchers. The courses are focused to different fields as
Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacy, etc.
