The CONSOLIDER project "Treatment and Reuse of
Wastewaters for a Sustainable Management (TRAGUA) was selected by the
Ministry of Education and Science in the 2006 call for CONSOLIDER-INGENIO
2010 programmes . |
|
|
|
Its main objective is to take advantage of the experience
of 24 research groups in different areas to study in an integrated way the
reuse of treated urban wastewaters. To achieve this objective a solid
pluridisciplinary team with authorized experience in the application of
water treatments coming from waste water treatment plants, based on advanced
technologies, the establishment of the chemical and biological quality
criteria and the determination of its impact on the environment. As any
other activity aimed to achieve sustainability, economical issues are also
considered, and all the proposals include a socieconomic valoration. |

The project will achieve its global objective by reaching
the following milestones: |

A survey
of the present state of the wastewater treatment in Spain. |

A methodology for the determination of the impact of the contaminants in the
physical and biotic environment. |
|
|
 |
Criteria for selecting the treatment technology more suitable for each type
of water coming from WWTP. |
|
|
 |
Criteria of use of reclaimed water. |
|
|
 |
Formation of professionals to deal with sustainable water management. |
|
|
 |
Create a
favourable social atmosphere to use reclaimed water. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
With the aim of promoting the active participation of
young researchers, master and doctorate students, TRAGUA and ANQUE reached
an agreeement to offer a total of 25 free registrations for students
presenting a scientific communication (oral or poster) in the congress. The
deadline to receive these abstracts is 18th March 2010. |
