8. The 23 ICAP held in Madrid 1994

From July 17-22, 1994 the 23rd International Congress of Applied Psychology was held in Madrid. 3,500 persons from 70 countries have participated and two-thirds of them produced a paper for this Congress.

This congres was sponsored by the Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos on behalf of the International Association of Applied Psychology. The Complutense University provided the host in Internet for an information service via e-mail and for the submission of abstracts. It was the first Congress in Psychology were telecommuting and telecomputing among psychologists worked together. It was also the first congress in psychology were the proceedings were made available in printed form and online in HTML format just at the same time. The large body of 2.100 abstracts was organized into numerous fragments. Each fragment was related to a field of specialty and and a kind of activity during the congres. Users may reach via mail the small fraction of information they need at any time.
