5. IAAP Board of Directors and Executive Committee (2002-2006)

The Constitution of IAAP vests the administrative and executive powers of the Asociation in the Board Of Directors (BOD) which is comprised of a minimum of 24 and a maximum of 45 members and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors who are appointed by the Board Of Directors. Tenure of office of each member of the Board Of Directors is eight years. Members may be re-elected for an additional 8-year term.

Any full member of the Association may nominate a qualified person for election to membership on the Board Of Directors. On a regular basis election to the Board of Directors occurs every four years at the start of every International Congress of Applied Psychology and exceptionally during the meeting held during International Congresses of Psychology sponsored by the IUPsyS.

Past Executive Officers

Until 1986 the officers of the IAAP were President and Secretary/Treasurer, with varying years of tenure for each office. During the Congress held in Jerusalem, the office of Vice President was replaced by President-Elect, and the limit of office of President to four years was adopted to begin in 1990. During the Congress held in Kyoto, the office of the Secretary and Treasurer were separated. Currently, the past officers become ex-officio members of the Executive Committee
