ABSTRACT

This paper outlines the current state of the psychological interventions in the area of Social Services in Spain. Ideological issues and professional procedures cannot be approached separately in this field. Social Psychology techniques and procedures are on the stage while clinical assessment and diagnosis in a conventional sense remain in the back yard. Minority or marginal groups are the main beneficiaries of these types of psychological actions. However, when we consider all "minorities" and "marginal groups" together their number constitute a majority in an affluent society. Social services pay attention to specific problems as well as general problems in our society that cannot remain hidden.
