The design, development, and optimization of new materials for energy storage and suitable for the preparation of solar cells require a broad multidisciplinary effort. The process starts with the chemical syntheses to produce the functional materials and continues to the elucidation of the essential photophysical processes that these material exhibit which, in an ultimate instance, will result in a photovoltaic response in the fabricated devices.
The main goal of the project is getting to the fabrication of a device series which employ new photo- and electroactive materials with improved efficiency and stability. Therefore, is essential in this project the participation of energy-field industries to reach technological excellence of the all-organic and hybrid
nanocrystalline/organic solar devices and to establish in a short-term a competitive photovoltaic technology in Spain.
