General information

 

The IAIF is a Complutense Research Institute in the University Complutense of Madrid with more than 20 years of experience in research in the field of Innovation Economy. The IAIF operates under the guidance of lecturers Mikel Buesa, Covadonga de la Iglesia and Joost Heijs and has several lines of research such as:

 

• Measurement of national and regional innovation systems
• Analysis, design and evaluation of R & D
• Efficiency of R & D in businesses and regional level
• Innovation, growth and competitiveness
• Innovation and internationalization
• Economy of terrorism

 

During this period the IAIF and its members have been working with the most important research institutes and the major national and international organizations in Europe, by extended stays in them, or through participation in research projects. Good examples are:

 

• Science and Policy Research Unit (SPRU) de la Universidad de Sussex (England)
• MERIT Universiteit van Maastricht (The Netherlands)
• Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI (Karlsruhe-Germany)
• ERAWATCH network (Brussels –Belgium)
• DG Research and innovation and the DG Regional and Urban Policies (European Commission)
• JRC Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (JRC-IPTS – Seville)

 

In the same way, the institute has been working directly or indirectly for all the relevant organisms regarding R&D policies at the international level (FECYT, CDTI, la Agencia del Diseño Industrial (DDI), el MICINN) and at the national level, in Comunidad de Madrid (Fundación Madri+d; Conserjería de Educación; Consejo Económico Social etc...). Furthermore its members participated in the project of regionals R&D policies in La Rioja, Galicia, Madrid, País Vasco and Andalucía. For these reasons IAIF has good contacts across the country and the word.
